Can you believe it? Marvel Studios almost cut Iron Man from one of their biggest movies!

Captain America: Civil War is widely considered one of the best Marvel Cinematic Universe films, and it's hard to imagine without Iron Man.

But according to a new book, Marvel Studios actually considered cutting the iconic character from the film.

The book, titled The Story of Marvel Studios: The Making of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, reveals that Marvel Creative Committee initially wanted Iron Man to play a very small role in Civil War.

They envisioned a film that was more focused on the conflict between Captain America and the Winter Soldier, with the other Avengers taking a backseat.

However, directors Anthony and Joe Russo (collectively known as the Russo brothers) strongly disagreed with this vision.

They felt that Iron Man was essential to the story of Civil War, and that his conflict with Captain America was the heart of the film.
