The cast of the upcoming Hunger Games prequel, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, is now free to promote the film after SAG-AFTRA reached an interim agreement with producers. This means fans can expect to see Rachel Zegler, Tom Blyth, Hunter Schafer, Viola Davis, Peter Dinklage, and the rest of the cast on social media, late night TV, and more in the lead-up to the film’s release.
Hunger Games Prequel Green Light To Promote
The interim agreement comes after months of negotiations between SAG-AFTRA and producers. The union had been pushing for better pay and working conditions for its members on the film. The agreement reached includes a number of improvements, including:
- Higher pay rates for cast members
- More rest periods and breaks
- Better transparency on the production schedule
- More diversity and inclusion on set
SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher praised the agreement, saying that it “represents a significant step forward for our members working on the Hunger Games prequel.” She also thanked producers for their willingness to work with the union to reach an agreement.
Fans of the Hunger Games series are sure to be excited to see the cast of the prequel promoting the film. The film is set 64 years before the events of the original trilogy and tells the story of a young Coriolanus Snow, who is tasked with mentoring a tribute from District 12 in the 10th Hunger Games.
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is scheduled to be released in theaters on November 17, 2023.
