Can You Believe It? ‘BARBIE‘ Got 11 Grammy Nominations, Including Record of the Year & Twice For Song of the Year!

That’s right, the upcoming ‘BARBIE’ movie soundtrack has received 11 Grammy nominations, including the most prestigious award of all, Record of the Year. It’s also nominated for Song of the Year twice, with Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For” and Lizzo’s “Plastic Hearts.”

This is an absolutely incredible achievement for a movie soundtrack, and it’s a testament to the quality of the music that producer Mark Ronson has put together. The album features a star-studded lineup of artists, including Billie Eilish, Lizzo, Pink, Dua Lipa, and Nicki Minaj, and the songs are all catchy, empowering, and fun.

11 Grammy Nominations ‘BARBIE’

The 91-year-old composer John Williams, who won Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media for his work on Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and The Fabelmans, will compete against himself in other categories that are specific to movies and television shows. Oppenheimer, a 2023 blockbuster, will compete with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and the Williams brothers for Best Score Soundtrack. Take note that the older movies are nominated because October 1, 2022, to September 15, 2023, was the eligibility period for the Grammy Awards.

The albums for Daisy Jones & The Six, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3: Awesome Mix, Vol. 3, and Weird: The Al Yankovic Story are the other nominees for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media.

The Kendrick Lamar concert film Live From Paris, The Big Steppers Tour, the Lewis Capaldi documentary How I’m Feeling Now, and documentaries about David Bowie (Moonage Daydream), Little Richard (I Am Everything), and Tupac Shakur (Dear Mama) are the competition for the Best Music Film category, which is highlighted by three late legends.
