Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ Gets One More Week in IMAX Theaters, Eyes $1 Billion Gross

Oppenheimer Grossing $1 Billion

This limited engagement will feature six IMAX 70mm film screenings across the globe:

  • AMC CityWalk Stadium 19 (Hollywood, CA)
  • AMC Irvine Spectrum (Irvine, CA)
  • AMC Lincoln Square IMAX (New York, NY)
  • AMC Metreon 16 IMAX (San Francisco, CA)
  • BFI London IMAX (UK)
  • Melbourne Museum IMAX (Australia)

“Oppenheimer” has been a critical and commercial success since its release in July, grossing nearly $950 million worldwide. It’s also been a boon for IMAX theaters, generating over $183 million in ticket sales, making it the fourth-highest-grossing IMAX film of all time.

With its limited IMAX re-release, “Oppenheimer” has a chance to cross the $1 billion mark at the global box office. It’s currently only $54 million away from that milestone.
