Dune: Part Two

DUNE 2 Delayed Maybe Again

Fans of the critically acclaimed sci-fi epic Dune will have to wait a little longer for the sequel. Dune: Part Two was originally scheduled to release on November 3, 2023, but has been delayed to March 15, 2024. The delay is due to the ongoing actor pay dispute between the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and the major Hollywood studios.

The actors and writers unions are striking for fairer pay, including residuals for streaming services. The studios have refused to negotiate, and the strike has been ongoing since July 14, 2023.

The Dune 2 cast and crew are unable to promote the film while the strike is ongoing, and Warner Bros. Discovery is likely hoping to make its content supply last. The delay is a blow to fans of the film, but it is an important step in the fight for fair pay for actors and writers.
