The Simpsons to Spoof ‘The Silence of the Lambs’ in Treehouse of Horror XXXIV

The Simpsons is known for its hilarious and often biting parodies of popular culture, and its annual Treehouse of Horror special is no exception. This year, the show is set to spoof the classic horror film The Silence of the Lambs, and it looks like it’s going to be a real treat for fans of both shows.

The Simpsons Is Back

The segment, titled “Lisa’s Silence of the Lambs,” will feature a grown-up Lisa Simpson as FBI Agent Clarice Starling, recruited by the government to help catch a notorious serial killer named Sideshow Bob. In a nod to the original film, Lisa will visit Bob in prison to seek his insights into the mind of a killer.

The segment will also feature a number of other references to The Silence of the Lambs, including Bob’s famous cannibalistic tendencies and his obsession with fava beans. Of course, The Simpsons being The Simpsons, there will also be plenty of humor mixed in with the horror.

In a recent interview, showrunner Matt Selman teased that the segment will be “a bit more adult” than some of the previous Treehouse of Horror segments, but that it will still be appropriate for all ages. He also said that the segment will be a “love letter” to The Silence of the Lambs, and that it will feature some “really cool” animation.
