Get ready, Peaky Blinders fans! Cillian Murphy, who plays the iconic Tommy Shelby, has hinted at the possibility of a movie spin-off.
In a recent conversation with Margot Robbie in Variety’s actors on actors show, Murphy expressed his openness to the idea, saying: “I’m open to the idea. I’ve always thought that if there’s more story to tell, I would be there.”
While Murphy acknowledges that the six seasons of Peaky Blinders were “perfect” and he appreciates the “ambiguity of the ending,” he leaves the door open for a potential return as Tommy Shelby.
Creator Steven Knight has also teased the possibility of a movie, stating that it’s “something that we’re all open to.” However, he has also emphasized that it’s important to tell the right story and not just do a movie for the sake of it.
Fans have been clamoring for more Peaky Blinders ever since the show ended in April 2022. The series was a critical and commercial success, winning numerous awards and garnering a devoted following around the world.
While there’s no confirmation yet on whether a Peaky Blinders movie will actually happen, Murphy’s openness is definitely giving fans hope.
